Horseshoe Crab

The horseshoe crab's life seems so sad,

Who could possibly know what would make him glad?

There he lies on the beach.

Everyone walking past but no one seems to reach.

When did he get there, when did he arrive?

Seems very hard to tell if he is even dead or alive.

Was he tossed by a wave, did he go for a ride?

Is he sunning his belly or is he trying to hide?

There's one whose tail is moving in the sand.

It looks like he's trying to write he's using it like a hand.

I've got it, he's saying "Turn me over can't you see,

Or are you upside down just like me?"

No wonder he looks so sad and blue.

I guess I would be too if I were in such a stew.
