As I trek across the sand,
Running and crawling as fast as I can,
While waves come crashing down on me,
I try to swim into the sea.
I hit a rock--I start to tip!
Washed ashore, its then I flip.
On my back, I'm helpless there,
I see your eyes begin to stare.
You can save me from this fate,
But it must be quick--it cannot wait.
Yet your hand, I may try to nip
When you attempt to help me flip.
So, reach down now with a sandy shell, And turn me over so I can tell,
This story of mercy to my kids and wife,
The day you saved this tiny crab's life!
